A candidate shall be expected to demonstrate successful experience pertinent to the position they are being recommended and have demonstrated qualities relevant to the goals of the academic unit in which they will be employed. Clinical Associate Professor:
Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess professional qualifications above those equivalent to the highest degree relevant to their field. They are expected to have produced creative work, professional writing, or research and successful teaching or professional experience. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.
The Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice (PEP) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor. This is an exciting opportunity to join the PEP faculty at the Jacksonville campus of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (UFCOP). The ideal candidate will contribute to the teaching, patient care, research, and service missions of the College.
Responsibilities will include:
- didactic, clinical skills, and experiential teaching in the PharmD program focusing on acute care pharmacy practice;
- maintaining a high-quality clinical pharmacy practice focused within inpatient internal medicine;
- providing service to the College of Pharmacy, Hospital, the pharmacy profession;
- conducting scholarly works.
The faculty member will maintain an active clinical practice/teaching site. The UFCOP Jacksonville facilities are located on the campus the UF Health Jacksonville Medical Center. The clinical practice will be established at UF Health Jacksonville, with this position contributing 20% effort to patient care. Faculty in this position reports to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice.

Required QualificationsApplicants must have a PharmD degree with one year of post-graduate training (residency or fellowship) or equivalent experience, with experience in internal medicine or other related pharmacy practice. Applicants must be eligible for Florida Pharmacist licensure. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. An FDLE Criminal Background Check is required.
Preferred- Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent experience, previous teaching experience (didactic and/or experiential), evidence of scholarship, experience in mentoring students and/or postgraduate trainees, and prior experience providing culturally competent care to a diverse patient population are preferred. A background in inpatient internal medicine pharmacy practice with experience in academic interdisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.
