The SAT/ACT Test Preparation Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Jacksonville, FL. The instructor is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality SAT and ACT preparation classes, including lessons on math, reading, writing, and test-taking strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and updating instructional materials, providing individualized feedback and guidance to students, tracking student progress, and adjusting teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
The instructor collaborates with university staff to schedule classes, coordinate classroom resources, and support outreach efforts to prospective students and families. This role also involves maintaining current knowledge of SAT and ACT exam formats and best practices in test preparation.
- Demonstrated expertise in SAT and ACT content areas (math, reading, writing, and test-taking strategies), with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills, including lesson planning, facilitation of group activities, and individualized student support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate high school-aged learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple classes, student progress tracking, and curriculum updates efficiently.
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic coaching, ideally in standardized test preparation or secondary education.
- Familiarity with current SAT and ACT exam structures, scoring, and preparation resources, and willingness to stay updated as tests evolve.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or a related field; advanced degree or teaching certification is preferred.
