Production Technician - Electrical

Directly or through others, the incumbent has ultimate accountability for each area of the corporation:
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of a Gas Fired Power Plant. This includes water treatment systems, circulating water systems, condensate/feedwater systems, heat recovery steam generator systems, turbine systems, generator systems, control systems, electrical systems, and various other plant systems. Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant mechanical, hydraulic and steam related equipment. This includes pumps, boilers, turbines, valves, compressors, couplings, safety valves, fans, heat exchangers, and various other devices.

Is required to show initiative in his/her area of responsibility. Candidate will be assigned electrician duties on a normal basis, so, Electrician experience or strong electrical background will be required.

Directly or through others, the incumbent will:

• Will be required to complete per Multi Skill Requirements
• Will, or can be assigned, work shift work and overtime to ensure plant reliability
• Properly conducts low, medium and high voltage switching, clearing and grounding activities for all plant auxiliary equipment.
• Controls system voltages and frequencies as requested by dispatcher.
• All other duties as assigned.

• High School education or GED equivalent with four years related experience in a related industry or 2 years related experience and a 2 years Associates Degree in Power/Industrial Technology.
• All applicants (excluding applicants currently employed in specific positions in Fossil Generation) must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources.
• Electrician experience or strong electrical background required

Bargaining unit position represented by IBEW 2337.

Must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
