Skill Bridge Field Service Representative

Position SummaryThe Military DoW Skill Bridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. Skill Bridge connects Service members with industry partners in real‑world job experiences under DODI 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full‑time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O‑4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval.
Rolls‑Royce as a Skill Bridge partner offers real‑world training and work experience in in‑demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoW Skill Bridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Rolls‑Royce, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active‑duty service members.
The Field Service Representative will provide technical guidance and advice in the evaluation of unusual engine related issues from all levels of operations and maintenance on Defense Aerospace product lines.
What you’ll be doing- Managing and maintaining close liaison with all relevant sections of customer organization, and Rolls‑Royce Customer Support, Engineering and Program Management
- Analyzing results and publishing reports detailing procedures and conclusions
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with all Field Service Representatives, and Deployed Operations Managers (DOMs) on all supported Defense programs. Similarly, establish and maintain working relationships with Customer Training Managers and Instructors
- Providing technical assistance in the form of written, phone calls, electronically or customer visits relating to aircraft engine operations, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and logistics support
- Utilizing and supporting Rolls‑Royce and customer databases and diagnostic software programs on generated technical queries
- 5 years relevant engine maintenance experience
- Experience maintaining, operating, testing or equivalent Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine experience
- Familiarity with the applicable regulations of relevant airworthiness authorities
- A Current FAA Mechanic Certificate with a Powerplant rating or international equivalent
- Experience with AE1107 engine
- Prior military experience
- An associate degree
