Position

Summary

The Product Engineer – Electrical Distribution Equipment position is a key member of the Product Engineering team and will provide engineering support for a range of medium and/or low voltage products through all phases of product development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary point of contact (POC) and subject matter expert (SME) for medium and/or low voltage power distribution products.
  • Focus on testing and qualifying new products and processes, supporting the transition of those products and processes into manufacturing.
  • Assist in the coordination and management of new product introduction schedules and activities, and cross‑product issues throughout the product life cycle.
  • Organize, prepare, finalize and maintain documentation for production and commercial use.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, etc. to ensure Product Engineering activities are aligned.
  • Collaborate with vendors for product maintenance activities including product obsolescence and redesign. Coordinate action plans with internal teams to support product maintenance needs.
  • Provide engineering leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Competency with medium voltage and/or low voltage switch gear product design and manufacturing, including knowledge of industry standards (UL 67, 891, 1558, 1008 and ANSI C37.20 and NEC/CEC).
  • Ability to be flexible with multi‑tasking and changing priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate and work through ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum 4‑year degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related scientific field.
  • Minimum 2‑5 years’ experience in the power distribution equipment or a closely related industry.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $82 560 – $124 800 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
