Field Service Specialist

Base pay range: $21.00/hr - $32.00/hr

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing professional service and support for Huber Technology customers by performing field service installations, start up, repair and maintaining HUBER waste water equipment. The Field Service Specialist, Industrial‑Mechanical Repair Emphasis will work within the guidelines established by the Director of Service and/or President and will follow established procedures when representing Huber Technology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, calibrate, configure, test, maintain, evaluate, troubleshoot, pre‑commission, commission and repair waste water equipment manufactured by Huber Technology, including pumps, motors, valves, polymer stations, etc.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance or repair of equipment and all associated parts.
  • Install equipment at customer sites and provide pre‑installation assistance.
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation to prepare for startup or service.
  • Provide on‑site training to customer personnel to Huber Technology standards.
  • Build professional customer relationships through solution‑oriented communication and service, on‑site and by telephone.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, spare parts, and management to resolve escalated problems.
  • Provide written reports to the Director of Service on all site activities and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Submit expense reports to the Director of Service and complete required documentation promptly.
  • Make technical recommendations to maintenance technicians and/or treatment plant operators.
  • Ensure site work is carried out in the required order and completed by the required time, in coordination with the Director of Service, Aftermarket Sales Team, and Operations Team.
  • Maintain safe working practices on site and report any breaches of health & safety to the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator and/or the Director of Service.
  • Undertake any additional technical activities as directed by the Director of Service.
  • Keep materials, tools, and equipment safe, secure, and in good order.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are relevant, up to date, and calibrated according to Huber Technology requirements.
  • Assist in manufacturing or engineering with customer projects, unit refurbishment, or replacement at the customer site or Huber Technology manufacturing facility.
  • Document, label, and return all defective parts used in repairs.
  • Educate customers on basic operation of their equipment.
  • Assist the parts department in recommending spare parts and wear parts to existing and new customers.
  • Perform all required welding activities in the shop and/or at customer sites.
  • Ensure all necessary travel, medical, and associated documentation is valid and kept up to date; inform the Field Service Manager in adequate time to procure replacements.
  • Provide in‑depth troubleshooting via phone with customers in the field.
  • Provide technical assistance to all Huber Technology representatives in the field.
  • Assist customers with application and process related issues by phone and in the field.
  • Assist the Director of Service, V.P. of Operations, and Aftermarket Sales Consultants with identifying warranty vs. non‑warranty issues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance toward customers on the telephone, by correspondence, and in person.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is valid and up to date; inform the Director of Service in adequate time to procure replacements.
  • Wear uniforms provided by Huber Technology, Inc.; maintain a clean, professional appearance at all times.
  • Provide technical support to other Field Service Specialists in the field.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as requested by the Service Manager or Director of Service.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent mechanical‑industrial repair/service experience, with minimum 1‑2 years in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.…
