Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for complex mechanical systems, including:
    • HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, fuel and gas distribution, utility systems, and control systems.
  • Support new construction and renovation projects for various large-scale facilities such as offices, plants, labs, and industrial buildings.
  • Ensure coordination and integration of mechanical systems with other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in planning meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions.

Project Scope Includes:

  • Design of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Piping and instrumentation, energy efficiency upgrades, and renewable energy systems.
  • Large utility infrastructure, air and water quality systems, and process piping.
  • Integration of safety and security features into mechanical system designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical systems design experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience on capital improvement projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Required Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including:
    • ASME, ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IPC, IBC, and SMACNA.
  • Proficiency with design tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, engineering analysis programs).
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and manage technical project elements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting.
  • Experience leading or coordinating engineering teams.
  • Knowledge and application of workplace safety practices and PPE.
