Job Description
One of our medical device companies is looking for Sr. Controls Engineer's to join their team Engineer team. This person will be responsible for providing hands on controls and automation support for various manufacturing platforms in their regulated industry. This role will focus on PLC, HMI, motion, and system integration to ensure stable, compliant, and high-performing production systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting high-volume manufacturing equipment and the ability to independently own complex technical issues.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Develop, modify, and support PLC programs (Siemens, CTI/APT, Mitsubishi, Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley Control Logix / Compact Logix).
- Maintain and enhance HMI applications (Wonderware, Archestr
A, Factory Talk View or equivalent). - Lead troubleshooting of automation, motion, and sequencing issues.
- Resolve chronic downtime and performance issues using structured root cause analysis.
- Support motion systems, servo drives, vision systems, and peripheral equipment.
- Lead controls-related upgrades, retrofits, and platform enhancements.
- Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and equipment startups.
- Implement changes through formal change control and validation processes.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and internal validation requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation and validation records.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and junior engineers.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering.
- Advanced proficiency with Siemens, CTI/APT, Mitsubishi, or Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley Control Logix / Compact Logix.
- Experience with Factory Talk View ME/SE, Wonderware, Archestr
A and similar HMI platforms. - Strong knowledge of motion control, VFDs, safety systems, and Ether Net/IP.
- Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing equipment.
- Working knowledge of FDA/GMP or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with MES/eDHR integration.
- Experience with machine vision systems.
