Job Summary

Miller Electric‑The Virtual Design and Construction Project Scheduler role supports project teams by developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed construction schedules to ensure projects stay aligned with baseline timelines and budgets. It involves close coordination with Project Managers, field leadership, and operations to track progress, resolve scheduling issues, and produce short‑term, look‑ahead, and task‑level schedules. The position requires advanced expertise in Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading, earned value reporting, QA/QC of schedules, and continuous schedule updates and reporting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assisting Team Leads, Superintendents, and the Project and Program Managers in tracking the projects against baseline schedules and budgets.
  • Prior to project start, creating and revising preliminary master schedules, detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.
  • Assisting Project Manager in maintaining a Master schedule for each project, identifying and recording the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled.
  • Evaluating actual progress and providing regular schedule updates.
  • Interfacing with Operations to discuss the impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • Create work breakdown structures.
  • Identify relationships, constraints, and milestones with the project work schedule.
  • QA/QC review of schedule submissions for conformance.
  • Incorporating Resource and/or Cost Loading data into schedules and reporting Earned Value as the project moves forward.
  • Assisting Project Managers in creating short‑term schedules, monitoring such schedules to determine the impact on the master schedule, and helping in formulating actions to correct scheduling problems.
  • Deep knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling Software and ability to utilize every aspect of it.
  • Remaining current on the advancements in scheduling software.
  • Aiding Project Managers and others as required with the incorporation of fragments in the Project Schedule.
  • Work with Field Leaders to create and fine‑tune “look‑ahead” schedules as required.
  • Create “micro schedules” for specific tasks as the project progresses.
  • Assign schedule activities to the appropriate General Foreman and perform the weekly schedule update with each respective General Foreman.
  • Participate in the weekly schedule update with the General Contractor and report out status from updates received from the internal update process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma plus 6–8 years of relevant experience or associate degree plus 4–6 years of relevant experience or bachelor's degree plus 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Lean Construction practices (i.e., Last Planner System, Pull Planning), including integration of Pull Planning data/sequences into the project schedule.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
Preferred
  • Hands‑on construction experience.
