Project Manager
Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves working closely with customers to obtain business, assisting in the creation and submission of bid packages, and providing quotes or estimates for current customers. Additionally, the Project Manager will manage and estimate Design-Build civil and utility projects.
Responsibilities
* Work with customers to obtain business or project opportunities.
* Assist in the creation and submittal of bid packages.
* Provide quotes or estimates on jobs for current customers.
* Write up and deliver on the estimations.
* Utilize Microsoft Excel for project tracking and follow-up.
* Follow up with customers during the projects and after completion.
* Take orders or RFQs from customers and respond accordingly.
* Schedule crews for the jobs.
* Ensure projects stay under budget and on schedule.
* Attend construction sub-contractor meetings.
* Work with clients on any change orders or take-offs.
* Act as a face-to-face representative on the projects being managed.
* Manage and estimate Design-Build civil and utility projects, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and underground utilities.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, budgets, and bid proposals.
* Coordinate with engineers, designers, owners, and subcontractors during the design and preconstruction phases to optimize constructability and cost efficiency.
* Oversee project planning, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
* Track project costs, changes, and progress to maintain accurate financial and schedule controls.
* Participate in value engineering, scope development, and risk analysis.
* Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, quality control, and local regulations.
* Manage permitting, inspections, and utility coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills
* Expertise in construction management and project management.
* Strong background in construction and engineering.
* 2+ years of estimation experience.
* 2+ years of construction project management experience.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* A Construction Management Degree is preferred.
Work Environment
The position involves a combination of office and field work. The candidate will work in the office on bids, responses, scheduling, and reporting, while also assisting with project completion in the field to ensure everything stays on track. The job can be stressful and involves handling deadlines effectively.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $50.00/hr.
