Stormwater Intern

Role description

We are looking for a Stormwater Transportation Engineer Intern for Summer 2025 to join our design group in one of the following offices:
Raleigh, NC;
Jacksonville, FL;
Atlanta, GA;
Chattanooga, TN;
Baton Rouge, LA.

• Work on engineering design for numerous roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and bridge replacements across the southeast.
• Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, post-construction water quality structure design, and erosion and sedimentation control.
• Prepare construction plans, project displays, cost estimates, reports and technical memos.
• Utilize various design software such as Micro Station, Inroads, Geo Pak, Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-MS, HY8, Flow Master, Pond Pack, Culvert Master, ICPR and Storm
  
  CAD to assist with design and preparation of construction plans.
• Work efficiently both independently, with little supervision, and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Complete a wide range of tasks in both office and field.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with drainage design.
• Experience with software platforms such as Bentley’s Storm
  
  CAD, Culvert Master, Flow Master, Pond Pack, HEC-RAS, HEC-MS, HY8, ICPR, and/or SWMM.

Salary range: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
