Junior Packaging Developer

• Support and/or lead packaging development projects from development through qualification.
• Create robust test plans and high-quality trial reports.
• Elevate any technical or project risks to the manager and the multifunctional team with defined scope and backup options.
• Create robust packaging specifications and develop all components that meet the following criteria:
  • Brand equity requirements (shape, color, decoration, etc.)
  • Manufacturing constraints (plant, co-packer) and supply chain
  • Project target cost and timeline
  • Legal and Bacardi Quality Standards
• Ensure that suppliers can manufacture specifications/components to capable standards through effective sampling & production; lead and record all trials & testing, ensuring stakeholders approve results.
• Own/communicate packaging critical path schedule items for your part of the project.
• Challenge suppliers to drive results and deliver proper component qualification.
• Contribute to growing technical knowledge and innovation on packaging.
• Collaborate closely with QA, manufacturing and procurement to find best solutions, and drive mold and packing line qualification.
• Master test methods, ship test protocols and mold qualification.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or any related technical field.

• 0-3 years experience in packaging development, R&D, business development, project management or related field in operations.

• Willing to travel 25%-35% of time.

• Strong interest in Packaging.
• Working closely with a multifunctional team to design and develop to enable robust execution at the best value.
• Ability to quickly understand packaging, packaging materials and packing systems to create and manage specifications.
• Capability to work in a seamless team across functions.
• Ability to manage and influence packed components suppliers at each phase of the project.
• Apply packaging development process and develop strong risk assessment on projects.
• Overall good collaboration.
• Basic project management skills.
• 3D CAD capability would be a plus.
