Apex Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team.
At Apex Technology, we provide structural and mechanical engineering solutions for residential and light‑frame construction projects across multiple markets. Our team partners closely with builders, developers, architects, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality, practical, and efficient engineering solutions.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer ready to take ownership of technical project execution, lead engineering deliverables, and serve as a key technical resource for both internal teams and customers. The Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while helping mentor and develop junior engineers.
What You’ll Do Technical Leadership & Engineering Execution- Own the technical execution, accuracy, and quality of engineering deliverables for assigned projects
- Perform and review engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and internal quality requirements
- Serve as a technical problem‑solver for complex or non‑standard design challenges
- Sign and seal work as required
- Manage engineering workflow and technical deliverables across multiple projects
- Coordinate schedules, priorities, and deliverables with Project Managers and operations teams
- Track project progress and support on‑time delivery
- Help drive accountability and execution throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in and lead technical discussions with customers, consultants, and trade partners
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for internal and external stakeholders
- Support customer meetings by providing technical expertise and practical solutions
- Conduct technical reviews and support quality control standards
- Identify and help mitigate technical and constructability risks
- Mentor and guide Staff and Associate Engineers
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, tools, and workflow enhancements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 4+ years of progressive engineering experience
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, project workflows, and building codes
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and related engineering systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Collaborative leadership style with a high level of accountability and attention to detail
