Come join the B&N Florida Stormwater team as a Chief Engineer! Join an existing diverse and hard-working team of stormwater engineers as B&N continues to expand this service further into the Florida market. Our current clients include the FDOT (D1, 2, 5 and
7), Hillsborough County, Polk County, City of Maitland and City of St. Petersburg, just to name a few. This role is meant to focus on technical execution of projects, mentorship, and development of junior staff. Additionally, you will have the opportunity, as desired, to provide assistance with project management and business development.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical expert in stormwater/drainage engineering related to civil and transportation projects for public clients.
- Provide guidance and technical oversight to project managers, junior engineering staff and CADD technicians. Limited supervisory responsibilities are a possibility
- Develop and oversee the execution of the drainage and stormwater management approaches associated with investigative studies to resolve historical flooding problems, municipal civil infra-structure projects and various transportation related projects
- Design services may include but not be limited to the following activities: water quality and stormwater management, floodplain analysis & compensation, stormwater conveyance, bridge hydraulics & scour evaluations, watershed modeling (1D & 2D) and environmental permitting
- Perform QA/QC of other team members' design work
- Work with leadership to execute work using traditional or alternative project delivery methods
- Provide limited assistance to business development leaders in Florida to develop SOQ's and participate in client interviews, where necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree for an ABET accredited civil, environmental or costal engineering program
- PE registration in the State of Florida, or ability to be registered with reciprocity is required
- 20+ years of related drainage design experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, ORD Drainage, Stormwise (formerly ICPR), ASAD, HEC-RAS is a plus
- Experience with stormwater regulations as well as permitting stormwater projects in the state of Florida
- Strong writing skills in preparing drainage design documentation reports and technical memorandums
- Strong communication and mentorship skills
