Summary/Objective

The Safety and Compliance Specialist will provide essential support in advancing our compliance, safety, and environmental programs to a sustainable, proactive state. This role will collaborate closely with the Safety & Compliance Manager and Department Leaders to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, contracts and quality agreements, maintaining accurate documentation, and support the development of initiatives that promote a safe and compliant environment.

Functions

  • Review internal policies for alignment with regulatory policies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Review quality agreements to ensure alignment with TMPR operations and processes.
  • Audit compliance program across all departments and third-party contractors.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with customer quality agreements.
  • Organize compliance documentation to improve accessibility and usability.
  • Manage and update incident management system (EHS Insight).
  • Update and maintain Compliance Catalog.
  • Manage and update Ecovadis solutions and sustainability platform.
  • Update maintain licenses and permits required for TMPR operations.
  • Maintain centralized repository of active links to compliance regulations.
  • Update compliance documentation in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Assist in developing Compliance, Safety, and Environmental initiatives.
  • Participate in Compliance inspections and assist with follow-up actions.
  • Conduct safety training courses to include onboarding for newly hired employees.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees.
  • Maintain records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents and near‑misses; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay current with changes in safety and compliance regulations.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety & compliance culture and performance.

Required

Education and Experience
  • Associate in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science (preferred), or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of regulations, including OSHA, EPA, USCG, and DOT.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Risk assessment, management, and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards preferred.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Hazardous cargo documentation and process.
  • Occasional (less than 10%) travel.
Work Environment
  • Office-based role with periodic visits to operational facilities for inspections and audits.
  • Exposure to warehouse and port environments during facility visits.
Office Demands

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
