Halff is seeking a Director / Practice Leader with a Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License to support and provide leadership in the Florida transportation market, focusing on strategy and growth within FDOT districts. The individual will drive the growth and success of transportation planning, design, and related services in the state, including business development, client relationships, and project delivery.
What you will do:- Provide strong leadership and guidance in technical areas and oversee the transportation practice in the region.
- Research markets, develop and maintain client relationships, and identify business opportunities.
- Create and execute strategic plans and guide practice growth.
- Lead successful strategic pursuits and capture planning for specific opportunities.
- Work closely with operations staff to identify, hire, develop, and grow key staff and resources, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with Halff's national Transportation Practice to implement best practices and leverage firm-wide resources.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or an ABET‑accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
- 15+ years of progressive experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in Florida.
- Established leadership and industry expertise.
- Strong client connections, especially DOT relationships at senior levels.
- Positive attitude, self‑directed yet a team player, with a focus on integrity and quality.
- Multi‑discipline teams to meet challenges from aging infrastructure and shrinking budgets.
- Extensive knowledge in planning, designing, and managing transportation projects.
- Collaborative approach to transportation projects.
