Role Overview

A Director of Customer Integration on the New Glenn Customer and Payload Accommodations team will manage a technical team through design, development, and integration of customer hardware on New Glenn's Second Stage (GS2). This position supports all aspects of program management including cost, schedule, technical design, and risk management while working with Blue Origin internal organizations and suppliers to develop and deliver qualified systems.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct trade studies and estimates in support of proposals for external-facing customer technical projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering design, mission management, launch operations, and launch systems groups to ensure successful integration of payload requirements.
  • Serve as the point of contact between the New Glenn engineering team and mission integration for various launch contracts.
  • Interface with payload customers to evaluate mission requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Develop mission Interface Control Documents and validate payload system requirements.
  • Manage requests from multiple complex projects and teams.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements, such as FAA/ITAR/Range, are met.
  • Support Business Development interactions with external customers leading to mission integration and launch contracts.
  • Lead spacecraft integration and launch contracts to meet Blue Origin commitments on time, on budget, and with success.
  • Integrate customer requirements into New Glenn development and launch services.
  • Brief leadership during payload-to-launch vehicle integration meetings and mission readiness reviews.
  • Participate in proposal and contract development by estimating labor hours, material costs, and qualification efforts for new hardware development.
  • Lead an engineering team through hardware development and integration activities during active launch campaigns.
  • Develop resource-loaded mission Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and coordinate progress with internal and external customers.
  • Provide status updates to leadership and maintain open communication with customers, mission management, and other interfacing groups.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering (or related field) with 8+ years of complex product development experience.
  • 5+ years managing complex, multi-disciplinary, fast-paced aerospace projects.
  • 10+ years industry experience in launch system or satellite operations.
  • Active Top Secret clearance & SCI eligibility, or ability to obtain final clearances.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and abroad.
  • Collaborative, constructive, and concise communicator.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, team building, and people management skills.
  • Experience in development of launch vehicles.
  • Experience working with government customers.
