Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Reports to: Director of Hardware Engineering

Travel: Less than 5%

Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and refinement of mechanical components and systems. This role involves creating detailed models and drawings, performing engineering analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams to understand mechanical requirements and applications
• Conduct research to determine appropriate engineering methods
• Develop mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D modeling software
• Run simulations and testing to validate design concepts
• Support prototype development and oversee manufacturing handoff
• Document the design process, test results, and engineering decisions
• Manage timelines, resources, and project milestones
• Coordinate with other engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure design integrity
• Prepare technical documentation including specifications and manuals
• Stay current on industry trends and engineering best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design
• Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works preferred)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and design methodologies
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
• Ability to stay informed on emerging technologies and design innovations
