This Staff Engineering Technician supports the development of high-quality engineering deliverables for Water and Industrial Water projects. Under general supervision, the role requires intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and focuses on site development plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station.

• Function in a project engineering technician capacity.

• Support engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables under general direction.

• Apply foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions.

• Use digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.

• Provide technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs.

• Apply knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and BV policies and procedures.

• Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with specific codes and standards suitable for the project.

• Perform design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records.

• Coordinate with other design group personnel to exchange project information necessary for design development.

• Support field activities as needed, focusing on internal client needs while considering external client interest.

• Proactively seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes.

• Apply judgment and make decisions regarding deliverables and input interpretation.

Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

• Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
