Requirements

The Senior Estimator leads the estimating function for projects, overseeing the entire estimate lifecycle from conceptual budgeting to final proposal delivery. This role manages vendor and client relationships, mentors junior staff, and drives continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Leads and manages the estimating team, including training, workload distribution, performance oversight, and quality control.

What You'll Do
  • Lead preconstruction efforts by developing estimating strategies, conceptual budgets, and comprehensive cost estimates for complex projects.
  • Oversee proposal development, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering to deliver competitive, accurate bids.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Field Operations to develop execution plans, schedules, and project pricing strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers while leading pricing negotiations and serving as the primary customer contact during preconstruction.
  • Mentor and oversee estimating team members, improve estimating processes through market analysis and historical data, and support strategic planning for the Preconstruction department.
What You Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of estimating experience, including leadership or management of an estimating team.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, construction methods, and cost estimating best practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex engineering documents, manage multiple large-scale estimates, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office; ASPE, AACE, PMP, or similar professional certifications preferred.
