Akkodis is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our dedicated team for many years supporting a global leader providing electrical/mechanical components for Aviation, Space & Defense, and Transportation applications near the Jacksonville, FL Metro area. Candidate will primarily manage projects and complete assignments in support of developing aircraft engine harnesses while collaborating with many teams. Will also be responsible for product development and improvement of existing products.

Accountable for the quality of own work. Executes within a well-defined framework and adheres to standard processes and procedures.

Starting Pay Range:
Up to $115,000/yr (pay level is commensurate based on experience and education levels).

Project Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Plan and manage new-product development projects, following established processes.
  • Manage project scope, scheduling, resource coordination, risk identification, and progress tracking to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery targets are achieved.
  • Lead and/or support engineering design reviews, ensuring all requirements are met, including compliance to standards and procedures.
  • Develop new technical solutions independently or collaboratively, building upon proven methods, past designs, and organizational best practices.
  • Light design, develop, and/or modify engine harnesses for aerospace applications as most of this role will entail the above responsibilities.
  • Work closely with engineering and business leadership and cross‑functional teams to communicate project status, present results, and align engineering activities with strategic objectives.
  • Resolve issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborate with others to solve problems, exchange technical information, ask questions, and incorporate new learnings into scope of work.
QUALIFICATIONS (required):
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Greater than 2++ years of professional experience preferably as a proven project engineer with an aerospace and/or automotive harness application background. Secondly, we are also open to a strong harness designer with some complimentary project lead/mgmt expertise too.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute projects with multiple tasks.
  • Resourceful, able to find answers with limited direction.
  • Strong presentation skills, via MS Teams and in-person meetings.
