Who You AreThe ideal candidate is a designer with recent AutoCAD experience in the development of drawings for warship design. Experience with the FREEDOM Variant of the Littoral Combat ship and ship 3‑D modeling is a plus. The In‑Service Ship Design (ISSD) Ship Repair Designer will be a subject matter expert in a major ship‑building discipline such as piping/mechanical, hull/structure, or electrical and will provide drafting support for marine engineering and design work in support of maintenance and modernization of naval warships.
Responsibilities- Create and modify AutoCAD drawings;
- Assist in updating and maintaining released documents;
- Perform required product updates;
- Maintain accurate product documentation and work instructions;
- Provide technical support;
- Manage database information;
- Work alternate non‑standard/overtime hours and on‑call service as required;
- Conduct ship‑checks of designs and translate them into design products;
- Travel (15%-30%) and work in a shipyard/shipboard environment.
- Significant drafting experience with AutoCAD 2015 or newer;
- Ability to read, draft, modify and redline ship drawings;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- NAVSEA drawing familiarity;
- Experience in Naval Ship Piping or Electrical Design;
- Experience creating and modifying Ship Installation Drawings;
- Shipyard experience in multiple trade disciplines;
- Navy ship engineering and combat systems familiarity;
- Experience creating and modifying 3D Models;
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Drafting; or equivalent education and experience;
- Good problem‑solving and decision‑making skills;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Knowledge of LCS Program, the ship, its systems, and Post‑Delivery programs.

Ability to Work RemotelyPart‑time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
