Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing operations. This individual will work closely with engineering and operations teams to develop engineering deliverables, support fabrication activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This role will support process/mechanical design efforts, assist with the development of process piping capabilities, and help ensure engineering deliverables align with fabrication requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development, design, and review of:
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Process flow schematics
- Piping isometrics
- Spool drawings
- Fabrication drawing packages
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Structural skid layouts
- Support process mechanical design activities across multiple projects
- Assist with engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support quality system development and documentation efforts
- Work with internal teams and external engineering/detailing firms to complete project deliverables
- Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with fabrication requirements
- Collaborate with fabrication and manufacturing teams to address drawing and design questions
- Maintain project documentation and engineering records
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0-3 years of engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, or related experience
- Experience or coursework related to process piping, mechanical systems, or fabrication environments preferred
- Familiarity with P&IDs, piping layouts, fabrication drawings, and BOMs is a plus
- Knowledge of ASME standards and quality systems is preferred
- Exposure to ISO standards or quality frameworks is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
- Experience with industrial fabrication or manufacturing environments
- Understanding of process piping and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with fabrication drawing packages and shop documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
- Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills within engineering and fabrication operations
Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00/yr.
