Biomedical Equipment Skillbridge Internship

Summary

The TRIMEDX Biomedical Engineering Intern is a Skillbridge internship for active service members, providing on-the-job training under close supervision of management. The role includes shadowing experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers to learn hospital operations, service call response, workload balance, damage documentation, preventive maintenance work orders, vendor management, equipment calibration, troubleshooting, electrical safety, and equipment repair.

• Shadow experienced engineers to learn daily tasks in a hospital environment.
• Respond to service calls and balance workload.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance work orders.
• Collaborate with vendors and calibrate biomedical equipment.
• Apply troubleshooting techniques for various equipment.
• Train on preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and repair methods.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures and inventory validation.
• Work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Active U.S. military service member (Skillbridge internship).
• Currently enrolled in an associate’s or technical degree program, or holding the TRIMEDX Trained Certification, or an equivalent biomedical‑related certification.
• Preferred experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license; willing to travel as required, possibly using personal vehicle.
• Capable of passing pre‑employment screening, including background check and substance‑use screen.
