Asst Engineering Technician

Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for an Assistant Engineering Technician in Jacksonville, FL (also Overland Park, KS; Denver, CO; Ann Arbor, MI; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ).

• Provides technical support to engineering teams under close supervision.
• Performs tasks requiring a basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to assist with the creation, modification, and maintenance of technical documents and drawings and project deliverables.
• Participates in the evaluation of methods used in the development of deliverables and design activities to support continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Continuously learns and applies established standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guidelines, and BV policies and procedures.
• Ensures deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing knowledge of the BV Quality Program.
• Demonstrates strong personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Expands technical knowledge to modify and develop less complex deliverables using various design inputs.
• May assist with minor technical tasks, such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• May assist with coordination of deliverables with other project disciplines to reduce errors and interferences.
• Prioritizes internal client needs while developing a basic understanding of external client drivers and expectations.
• Proactively seeks out and shares knowledge of emerging technologies and processes.

This position performs technical tasks requiring advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using advanced techniques in industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley Micro Station.

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typically a minimum of 1 year related work experience.
