Our organization is a dynamic and growing structural engineering firm based in Jacksonville Beach. We specialize in designing low-rise commercial and residential buildings. Our portfolio includes retail spaces, religious structures, restaurants, commercial additions, multi-family apartments, high-end custom homes, oceanfront residences, and structural assessments. We work with a variety of materials, including wood framing, masonry, concrete, and steel.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Professional Engineer (PE) to join our team. This role involves leading projects as the Engineer of Record, collaborating with a talented team of EITs and drafters, and ensuring the structural integrity and design excellence of our projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the Engineer of Record for various projects.
- Collaborating with EITs and drafters to produce structural construction documents.
- Performing structural calculations for building structures using wood, steel, masonry, and concrete.
- Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings and sketches.
- Participating in project meetings and conference calls.
- Conducting on-site structural inspections.
- Directing and working with drafters to develop comprehensive construction documents.
- Managing field calls and providing sketches for ongoing projects.
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Completed coursework in structural analysis, strength of materials, reinforced concrete design, and steel design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of building structures.
- Passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.
- Hold a PE license with the ability to obtain a Florida PE License.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Completed college courses in wood, masonry, and cold-formed steel design.
- Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Revit.
