Mechanical Designer
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings for both standardized and configurable products. The ideal candidate will support product development and improvement initiatives while collaborating with various teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Prepare engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, cut sheets, and revision-controlled documents.
- Support product development and continuous improvement efforts with a focus on manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, project management, quality, procurement, and field service teams.
- Provide technical support for production, vendors, material selection, and component evaluation.
- Participate in design reviews, testing, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Assist with developing and improving CAD standards, engineering tools, templates, and workflows.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology preferred. - 1-2 years of CAD design or engineering support experience.
- Proficiency with Solid Works, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering principles.
- Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal design, steel fabrication, and welding standards is highly desired.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Solid Works PDM is preferred.
- CSWP certification is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently.
- Results-driven with a commitment to continuous learning and workplace safety.
The work environment is collaborative, involving cross-functional interaction with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and project management teams. The role requires proficiency with CAD software and a strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
