Akkodis is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our dedicated team on contract-to-hire basis to exclusively support a global leader providing electrical/mechanical components for Aviation, Space & Defense, and Transportation applications in the Jacksonville, FL Metro area.

Whether you're a current Design Engineer, Project Engineer, or generally seeking a role that will propel your career to the next level or higher from your current, this role will primarily involve managing projects and completing assignments in support of developing aircraft engine harnesses while collaborating with many internal teams. Will also be responsible for overseeing product development and improvement of existing products.

Accountable for the quality of own work. Executes within a well-defined framework and adheres to standard processes and procedures.

Starting Pay Range:
Up to $54/hr (pay level is commensurate based on experience and education levels).

Project Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Plan and manage new-product development projects, following established processes.
  • Manage project scope, scheduling, resource coordination, risk identification, and progress tracking to ensure on‑time and on‑budget delivery targets are achieved.
  • Lead and/or support engineering design reviews, ensuring all requirements are met, including compliance to standards and procedures.
  • Develop new technical solutions independently or collaboratively, building upon proven methods, past designs, and organizational best practices.
  • Involved with overseeing the design, development, and/or modification of engine harnesses for aerospace applications as most of this role will entail the above project engineering responsibilities, not a hands-on designer.
  • Work closely with engineering and business leadership and cross‑functional teams to communicate project status, present results, and align engineering activities with strategic objectives.
  • Resolve issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
  • Collaborate with others to solve problems, exchange technical information, ask questions, and incorporate new learnings into scope of work.

QUALIFICATIONS (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering OR manufacturing engineering.
  • Experienced Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within the aerospace or automotive industries seeking a next level career role. Must possess prior experience of product assemblies. A background in engine harness development is helpful though not required as you ll oversee all related projects while collaborating with many of the engineering teams to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute projects with multiple tasks.
  • Resourceful, able to find answers with limited direction.
  • Strong presentation skills, via MS Teams and in-person meetings.
