Structural Project Engineer

Apex Technology is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys more than simply completing calculations—you’ll own the technical delivery of your projects, solve complex design challenges, work directly with customers and project teams, and help develop the next generation of engineers.

As a Project Engineer, you’ll have a high degree of independence and accountability while still being part of a collaborative team. You’ll manage multiple projects, ensure the quality and accuracy of engineering deliverables, and play an important role in improving the way we work.

For the right engineer, this role is also an important step toward Senior Project Engineer and future technical or leadership opportunities within Apex.

• Take ownership of the technical execution, accuracy, quality, and completeness of assigned engineering projects
• Perform and review engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents
• Manage engineering workflow, priorities, milestones, and technical deliverables across multiple projects
• Partner with Project Managers and operations teams to plan schedules, forecast workload, and support on-time delivery
• Sign and seal engineering work as required

• Serve as a technical resource for complex and non-standard design issues
• Identify and resolve constructability concerns and technical risks
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and internal quality requirements
• Conduct technical reviews and help maintain a high standard of quality across project deliverables

• Lead and participate in technical discussions with customers, consultants, trade partners, and other stakeholders
• Provide practical engineering solutions that balance technical requirements with project and customer needs
• Manage technical correspondence with customers, partners, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
• Represent Apex as a knowledgeable and trusted engineering partner

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Staff and Associate Engineers
• Share knowledge and support the development of less‑experienced team members
• Help improve engineering processes, tools, documentation, and workflows
• Contribute ideas that make our teams more efficient, consistent, and effective

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 4+ years of progressive engineering experience directly aligned with technical design and project delivery
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, applicable codes, and industry standards
• Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant engineering/design systems
• Strong understanding of quality control, constructability, and technical risk
• Ability to communicate confidently with customers, project teams, and technical professionals
