As the AVP, Settlements, you will play a crucial role in our Trade Settlement & Processing team. Your primary focus will be to ensure the smooth and efficient settlement of various securities, including equities and corporate bonds. You will monitor settlement obligations, manage delivery and payment orders, and release/receive securities through the DTC's PTS/PBS system. This role is vital in maintaining our reputation for timely and accurate trade settlements.

Responsibilities
  • Process and monitor daily DTC settlements for equities, corporate bonds, and other securities.
  • Ensure timely settlement of trades, adhering to T+1/T+2 market conventions.
  • Monitor CNS (Continuous Net Settlement) activity and manage settlement obligations.
  • Handle DO/PO (Delivery Order/Payment Order) transactions efficiently.
  • Release and receive securities via DTC’s PTS/PBS system, ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve any settlement discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all settlement activities.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and market conventions related to settlements.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior settlement officers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in trade settlement and processing, preferably in a financial institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of securities settlement processes and market conventions.
  • Strong understanding of CNS (Continuous Net Settlement) and its implications.
  • Experience with DTC's PTS/PBS system and its functionalities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using settlement and trade processing software.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying and resolving settlement issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
