Payroll Tax Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and supporting the overall payroll tax function.
What you'll be doing:
- Prepare and deliver all federal, state, and local payroll-related tax payments accurately and on time.
- Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of payroll tax operations.
- Interface with division payroll centers to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Support the reconciliation of all withholding tax general ledger accounts.
- Respond to tax agency inquiries and assist with audits as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll tax discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll tax or payroll operations.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Peoplesoft/Cloud, Master Tax) and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax filings.
- Familiarity with tax notice resolution and audit support.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
