Job Description

The Small Business Banker II proactively deepens relationships with existing Small Business customers within a specified territory. The Small Business Banker II ensures equal access to banking products and services across all communities including businesses in low‑to‑moderate income areas and minority communities. This role initiates contact with all new Small Business customers by conducting a customer assessment within 30 days of them joining the bank and assigns the customer to the proper TD Relationship Manager based on the results of the assessment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a larger and more complex territory
  • Actively call all new Small Business customers that have opened accounts in partner stores and complete a customer assessment
  • Actively call assigned SB customers and meet with them as necessary to deepen relationship, manage customer service issues, and identify product needs
  • Generate sales and referrals to all business partners in the bank to help meet the comprehensive financial needs of Small Businesses (RMLM, Merchant, Commercial, Treasury Management, Credit Card, Retail, Wealth)
  • Assign SB customers to the proper TD Relationship Manager based on customer parameters
  • Directly manage a group of store loan portfolios within the Front End Fulfillment process, responsible for the origination, structuring and closing of all non‑RMLM Small Business loan requests
  • Develop Small Business product expertise to properly vet potential product fits for the customer base
  • Work with the Stores and Commercial Bank to ensure superior customer service as measured by CWI
  • Manage the portfolio of all loans in the Front End Fulfillment process including relationship checkups and the renewal process
  • Contribute toward the achievement of Small Business Banking sales and business development objectives by meeting or exceeding individual sales goals
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends
  • Work closely with the Small Business Credit Center and SBB product groups to ensure satisfactory customer response times for new credit applications
  • Review all reports, including pipelines and dashboards, to ensure accurate and complete reporting, evaluating performance weekly
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Four years of calling and lending or credit support related experience at the Small Business level
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed marketing goals
  • Proven ability to understand and analyze personal and business financial statements
