Senior Commercial Loan Processor

Accountability StatementPrimary resource for facilitating commercial loan closings, working closely with lending and credit personnel. Interacts with internal and external members, vendors, and attorneys on a continual basis to provide superior service levels. Coordinates and performs activities to facilitate the loan processing and closing process to ensure loans are documented, liens are perfected, and files can be serviced properly without exceptions while staying abreast of all federal and state regulations related to commercial lending.

- Responsible for the entire processing workflow of commercial real estate loans, including processing, due diligence, clearing conditions, closing, funding and post‑closing.
- Serve as lead commercial real estate processor and subject‑matter expert for specialty loans such as construction, SBA, asset‑based loans and USDA.
- Gather all necessary documents from the originating loan officer to meet closing conditions.
- Review all attorney‑prepared real estate loan documents for accuracy, regulatory compliance and adherence to lender requirements, with particular attention to rates, terms, conditions, covenants and guarantees.
- Prepare and review all VyStar‑required compliance and ancillary documents for real estate loan closings.
- Prepare real estate loans for boarding in the loan origination system (nCino) in a timely manner.
- Coordinate closely with outside vendors to ensure appraisals, environmental reports, surveys and inspections are accurate and timely.
- Disburse all loan proceeds in accordance with loan approvals and department standards.
- Verify and correct any lien or title issues relevant to the property.
- Manage UCC, Flood and other applicable websites for critical loan information.
- Oversee the pre‑close and post‑close process for all real estate loans.
- Assist management in preparation for internal and external audits as needed.
- Process construction loan draws, ensuring proper controls and procedures are followed.
- Manage all transactions on the construction loan amount and interact with customers and builders to address related issues.
- Manage construction loan account transactions within the Credit Union operating systems.
- Complete the upload and conversion to permanent processing within the servicing database to ensure full documentation.
- Interact with third‑party vendors for construction administration to ensure construction loans are reconciled.
- Maintain a production pipeline flow for optimum loan production for multiple loans and adhere to critical deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve problems, and develop alternate solutions if needed.
- Assist in creation and modification of all procedures relating to loan origination, including desktop procedures.
- Maintain documentation files and ticklers to ensure clean audits and audit commercial loan files to eliminate exceptions.
- Adhere to VyStar Credit Union and departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, schedules, action items and reporting requirements.
- In some cases lift weighted loan files over 20 pounds.
- Perform other essential job‑related duties as assigned.
- Minimum five years of experience in a credit union, retail banking or mortgage environment.
- Minimum three years of experience in commercial lending loan origination with a similar‑size financial institution.
- Minimum two years of experience in commercial construction lending.
- Strong background in core processing systems, particularly Miser and nCino, or the ability to quickly learn applicable systems.
- Knowledgeable with loan documents, reports and closing procedures.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of VyStar policies and procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate support staff.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and email programs.
- High School diploma mandatory.
- Associate degree preferred.
