Job Description

Senior Manager of Tax Controversy and Procedure (TCP) provides technical support to firm client service professionals and clients on matters involving U.S. federal taxation, particularly in the areas of IRS practice and procedure and tax controversy. Applies knowledge and experience in procedural matters to assist clients with resolution of IRS account issues, mitigation of IRS penalty assessment and interest accrual, and other IRS procedural matters.

• Apply knowledge and expertise to assist internal and external clients with resolution of IRS account issues, mitigation of IRS penalty assessment and interest accrual, and other matters of tax procedure and tax controversy.
• Assist internal and external clients with federal tax examinations and other federal tax authority disputes.
• Participate in developing training programs in area of expertise.
• Supervise and coach other members of the TCP team.
• Other duties as required.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree in Tax or Juris Doctor preferred.
• Eight (8) or more years of professional experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant, bar admission, and/or Enrolled Agent required.
• Ability to use various tax applications and research tools required.
• Demonstrates superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Exhibits solid analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on organization and detail.

National: $150,000 - $250,000
Maryland: $150,000 - $250,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $150,000 - $250,000
