Kavaliro is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst for our local Jacksonville client.
Pay: $50-$55 per hour
Financial Planning & Analysis- Prepare recurring monthly and as-needed financial analyses, evaluate business performance, explain material variances, and provide recommendations to regional and local leadership to support effective decision-making.
- Develop and continuously improve management reporting packages, translating financial and operational information into meaningful insights, trends, and actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner with the Head of Finance on annual budgets, forecasts, and financial modeling activities, ensuring information is accurate, complete, timely, and presented in the appropriate format.
- Review financial performance, historical results, and emerging trends to provide leadership with a clear understanding of key business movements and their underlying causes.
- Establish and monitor operational and non-financial performance metrics to identify business drivers, recognize emerging concerns, and recommend actions to improve results.
- Create clear, compelling financial and operational visualizations that make complex information accessible to senior leaders and non-finance audiences.
- Investigate potential revenue losses, pricing inconsistencies, declining margins, and other areas of operational or financial inefficiency, recommending appropriate corrective measures.
- Develop customized reports, dashboards, and analyses to address specific management questions, business needs, and emerging priorities.
- Evaluate operational processes to identify bottlenecks, limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Research relevant industry practices and develop practical recommendations and implementation strategies.
- Participate in system implementations, migrations, enhancements, and automation initiatives.
- Develop supporting documentation, user guides, operating procedures, and training materials, and assist with end-user training as needed.
- Take on additional financial analysis, process improvement, reporting, and special projects based on evolving business requirements.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of organizational processes, policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain and update SOPs, the Accounting Policy Manual, and the Risk and Control Register to support consistency, compliance, and audit preparedness.
- Assist with planning and executing process walkthroughs and periodic internal control testing across various functions to evaluate control design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness.
- Analyze walkthrough and testing results to identify control gaps, process deficiencies, and areas of risk.
- Document findings, determine root causes, and partner with the Financial Controller and appropriate business teams to establish and implement remediation plans.
- Support ongoing improvements to the internal control environment by incorporating corporate requirements, external advisory recommendations, and recognized governance frameworks and standards, including SOX and applicable listing requirements for markets such as London, Euronext, and Hong Kong.
- Work collaboratively with business functions to strengthen controls surrounding company assets, including participation in fixed-asset verification, inventory counts, stocktakes, and other asset safeguarding activities.
- Assist with the development and administration of corporate secretarial processes while supporting broader governance-related activities as needed.
- Review invoices, employee reimbursements, and settlement requests to confirm appropriate business justification, adequate supporting documentation, and adherence to established submission and approval requirements.
- Escalate exceptions and summarize findings for the Financial Controller in the required format.
- Perform other duties, special assignments, and projects as directed to address changing business priorities.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners when appropriate, promoting open communication and effective collaboration.
- Apply sound professional judgment when handling financial responsibilities and communicating information that may be sensitive, confidential, or commercially significant.
