PREPARED BY: ___________________ Missy Rogers DATE: 9/2/2026 Chief Financial Officer APPROVED BY: __________________ DATE: 9/2/2026 Missy Rogers Chief Executive Officer_____________________________________________________________________ SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing the fiscal strategy, accounting operations, and financial compliance of the organization. The CFO reports to the CEO and ensures that the organization’s resources align with Pine Castle’s core mission. Supervises the activities and employees in both the Finance and Information Technology Departments while also acting as an important team member of Executive Leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Manages all accounting functions and funds to ensure the future financial viability of the organization.
- Creates the financial statements and other indicators to make recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.
- Projects and analyzes financial data for feasibility of program or facility expansions.
- Writes policies and procedures for the department.
- Manages the accounting and information technology departments
- Oversees and directs budgeting activities of the agency.
- Oversees and directs annual financial audit.
- Ensures strict adherence to IRS rules, GAAP standards, and restricted-fund tracking
- Provides procedures and systems necessary to ensure adequate accounting controls.
- Guides organizational strategy
- Provides thought leadership to Chief Executive Officer, staff, and Board of Directors to support sustainable growth and long term success.
- Presents Financial Statements to the Finance Committee and to the Board of Directors.
- Functions as agency liaison to the Finance Committee including preparing meeting agendas and supporting documentation.
- Attends Board meetings.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university, majoring in Business, Accounting, or Finance required; five years accounting experience and 5 years supervisory experience required. CPA credential preferred. Non-profit experience preferred.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
