Purpose:

** The Department of Political Science and Public Administration is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant Professor of American Politics and/or Public Administration/Public Policy. Position responsibilities include a 2/2 teaching load, research/scholarship, and service.

** This position will report to the Department Chair.

** A Ph.D. in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Government, or a related discipline is required by the employment start date.

Skills:

** The department seeks a dynamic scholar for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in American Politics, Public Administration, and/or Public Policy. Candidates with a primary background in just one of these fields are encouraged to apply, though the ideal candidate would be able to contribute to multiple areas. Subfield expertise is open with respect to research focus, although the department welcomes applications from candidates with expertise in data science, particularly the application of data-driven approaches to public policy questions.

The successful candidate would be able to utilize the department’s top 15 nationally ranked polling center and would also have opportunities to teach in the department’s NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. The department also has curricular needs in American politics, public administration, and research methods.
