This position is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and compliance of a specific grant program or group of grant programs.

This grant-funded Special Purpose Employee (SPE) position provides programmatic support to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department's Emergency Preparedness Division and works closely with the Grant Administrator to ensure effective management of grant-funded projects, equipment, training, planning initiatives, and regional coordination efforts.

The position serves as a regional liaison among the five counties that comprise the Jacksonville Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)—Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, Clay, and Baker Counties—to enhance regional preparedness and strengthen capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of domestic and foreign terrorism.

This position is grant-funded and exists for the duration of the approved grant period. Employment is contingent upon continued grant funding and project requirements.

• Assists in the administration and management of grants.
• Supports the Urban Area Working Group (UAWG) through meeting coordination, documentation, project tracking, and strategic planning.
• Monitors grant compliance requirements, documentation, reporting, and project implementation timelines.
• Assists with inventory management, inspection, tracking, maintenance, and accountability of grant-funded equipment and resources.
• Supports procurement planning and monitoring of grant-funded projects to ensure timely expenditure of funds.
• Maintains project records and prepare reports required by DHS/FEMA and state grant administrators.
• Performs other related duties necessary to support emergency preparedness and homeland security initiatives.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the City of Jacksonville’s competencies.

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in one or more of the following fields:
