Ultrasonographer

Overview

Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing sonographic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological and anatomical data under the direction of the Medical Director.

• Operates ultrasound unit.
• Assists with invasive procedures using ultrasound guidance.
• Communicates with the multidisciplinary clinical team on technical aspects of patient care.
• Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
• Provides excellent customer service for patients/families/representatives and other members of the treatment team.
• Performs ultrasound evaluations in accordance with AIUM protocols and departmental standards.
• Evaluates images/findings to rule out abnormalities and communicates findings according to departmental standards.

• Experience:
  
  2 years specialized training required.
• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification:
  Certificate Vocational Training;
  Graduate of Ultrasound Certificate Program required.
• One year clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
• ARDMS Certified required at time of hire.
• Travel:
  Up to 10%.
• Additional duties:
  As assigned; may vary.
