Description:

A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.

• Take patient's vital signs. Prepare patients for the provider's care. Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
• Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hardcopy, to include signature, date and time.
• Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician.
• Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms. Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
• Administer basic first aid.
• Participates in performance improvement projects.
• Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.

• Experience Requirements
  • 1-year – Medical Assistant – Preferred
  • 2–4 years clerical/customer service experience, ideally in a health care related industry – Preferred
  • 1-year experience with third party payors, and computer experience for imputing data and reviewing
• Certification/Licensure Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Required – or within 6 months Basic Life Support (BLS) required – At time of Hire
  • Medical Terminology Certificate – Preferred At time of Hire

  • A requirement of having completed an MA program that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or an agency approved by the board.
