We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Manager, Coding Operations to lead our coding team within a busy physician billing practice. This role is responsible for overseeing coding operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing revenue cycle performance, and supporting accurate claim submissions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of medical coders and auditors across multiple specialties.
  • Ensure accurate and timely coding of physician services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Monitor coding quality and productivity through audits and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with billing, compliance, and clinical teams to resolve coding-related issues.
  • Stay current with payer guidelines, coding updates, and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and implement coding policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Analyze coding trends and recommend process improvements to reduce denials and maximize reimbursement.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential required.
  • Minimum 5 years of medical coding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of physician billing, coding guidelines, and healthcare reimbursement.
  • Proficiency in EHR and billing systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athena).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in multi-specialty or academic medical group settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Office-based
  • Standard business hours with occasional extended hours during audit or enrollment periods.
