Job Summary
Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Registered Pulmonary Technologist to join our team at Baptist Downtown Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full‑time, day shift opportunity. At Baptist Medical Center, a Pulmonary Technologist is responsible for performing and interpreting pulmonary function tests, assisting with bronchoscopy procedures, drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases, and supporting patient care through diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary services.
The Pulmonary Technologist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to ensure safe, accurate, and high‑quality patient care.
- Performing and completing pulmonary function testing, including stress testing
- Troubleshooting, calibrating, and conducting quality control on PFT analyzers
- Drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases
- Assisting with bronchoscopy procedures, including moderate sedation, endobronchial ultrasound, and robotic systems
- Assisting with monthly quality assurance reports
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high‑quality patient care

EducationAssociate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience- 1‑2 years Respiratory Therapy Experience
- Pulmonary Experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required or
- Registered National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required or
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required or
- Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RFPT) preferred
- Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
