Health Information Management Specialist, Baptist

Job Summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Health Information Management Specialist to join the Baptist Jacksonville Downtown HIM team. This is a Full‑Time Days opportunity. Shift Information:
Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Applicant may have to travel to other HIM offices when needed. Primary location is Baptist Downtown. Will work the Ambulatory reviews.

• Round hospital to pick up discharges.
• Process ROI requests for medical information for internal/external requesters with proper authorization, consistently following HIPAA guidelines for timely access.
• Scan, retrieve, prep, and upload medical information into the electronic medical record, ensuring data integrity of the scanned documents using Solarity.
• Review all appropriate documents for physician completion in the electronic medical record per regulatory guidelines.
• Process all transcribed medical reports to assure they are transcribed timely and accurately and file them in the correct location in the EMR.
• In deficiency tracking, review all appropriate documents in ED and outpatient encounters for physician completion in the electronic medical record per regulatory guidelines.

High School Diploma/GED

• 1‑2 years Customer Service Experience Required.
• 1‑2 years Clerical Experience Required.

• Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Preferred
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Preferred
• Certified Coding Specialists – Physician‑based (CCS‑P) Preferred
• Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) Preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Preferred
• Certified Health Document Specialist (CHDS) Preferred
• Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) Preferred
• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Preferred
• Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) Preferred
