Schedule and Compensation

06:45 am – 03:15 pm, Monday‑Friday. Full‑time position. $10K Sign‑On Bonus.

Assist the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room and provide patient care in the clinical setting. The Surgical Tech II is also responsible for the care, handling and maintenance of basic surgical equipment and instrumentation.

High School Diploma or GED. Specific coursework:
Graduate of surgical technologist program.

Associate's degree.

• Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT within 1 year of hire or transfer.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

N/A.

Minimum of 6 months surgical technologist experience.

3‑5 years of working experience as a surgical technologist and assistant in a specialty line (Cardiology, Neurology, or Orthopedics).

• Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
• Strong working knowledge of anatomic structure and human body system.
• Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
• In‑depth knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including but not limited to presentation skills and report writing.
• Expert knowledge, use and demonstration of standard precautions; expert knowledge, use and experience with aseptic and sterile technique.
• Experience training and precepting staff in Cardio‑Thoracic surgery.
• Organization and time‑management skills including but not limited to organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
