Step-By-Step Behavioral Health Services, LLC is a community-based behavioral health organization committed to providing compassionate, high-quality mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our mission is to increase access to care, strengthen families, and support emotional wellness through ethical, client-centered practices.

Pay: $16–$18 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

Monday–Wednesday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (18 hours/week)

Location:

On-site (community behavioral health setting)

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Operations & Access Coordinator to support the daily administrative and intake operations of our Behavioral Health Department. This part-time, hourly role is crucial in ensuring timely access to services, facilitating smooth coordination with insurance companies, and providing strong support to clinicians and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage behavioral health intakes and referrals
  • Conduct initial screenings and collect demographic, consent, and insurance information
  • Schedule intake appointments and manage waitlists
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements
  • Communicate with insurance companies and managed care organizations
  • Submit and track prior authorizations and reauthorizations
  • Maintain accurate client records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Coordinate referrals with schools, hospitals, probation, and community partners
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, families, and staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or social services
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with Medicaid and managed care insurance
  • Familiarity with intake, referral, or authorization processes
