Step-By-Step Behavioral Health Services, LLC is a community-based behavioral health organization committed to providing compassionate, high-quality mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Pay: $16–$18 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday–Wednesday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (18 hours/week)
Location:
On-site (community behavioral health setting)
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Operations & Access Coordinator to support the daily administrative and intake operations of our Behavioral Health Department. This part-time, hourly role is crucial in ensuring timely access to services, facilitating smooth coordination with insurance companies, and providing strong support to clinicians and families.
Key Responsibilities- Manage behavioral health intakes and referrals
- Conduct initial screenings and collect demographic, consent, and insurance information
- Schedule intake appointments and manage waitlists
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements
- Communicate with insurance companies and managed care organizations
- Submit and track prior authorizations and reauthorizations
- Maintain accurate client records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Coordinate referrals with schools, hospitals, probation, and community partners
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, families, and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or social services
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information professionally
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience with Medicaid and managed care insurance
- Familiarity with intake, referral, or authorization processes
