POSITION SUMMARY
Optimal Imaging is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to produce imaging using ultrasound technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically conducts ultrasound exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physician and records. Based on current government regulations, COVID-19 vaccine may be mandated, offering medical or religious exemptions upon request. All applicable COVID-19 mandates will be identified and discussed during the interview process.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides ultrasound services in a timely and cost effective mannerEnsures operational excellence and quality of care in the FacilityDemonstrates use of proper positioning to produce quality imagingMaintains quality of imaging services in an efficient and effective mannerDemonstrates knowledge of all equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and staffUtilizes information and skills necessary to perform assigned maintenance responsibilitiesDemonstrates startup procedures, calibration of equipment, and troubleshootingDemonstrates knowledge of using hardcopy devices, film-processing equipment, written and/or other recorded formats, and archivingDemonstrates continued competence in caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing developmental perspectiveDemonstrates an understanding of each age group's cognitive, physical, motor/sensory adaptation, and specific interventionAppropriately modifies approach to patients based upon patient age utilizing a developmental perspectiveProvides appropriate interventions related to safety issuesConsiders cognitive states in patient educationDemonstrates knowledge and documented competence of ultrasound examsDocuments services provided in a thorough and effective mannerCollects appropriate clinical history and correlates findings with procedure being performedInitials and checks ordersMaintains all documentation in accordance with diagnostic division policy and procedure manual.Adheres to established facility/departmental safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentDemonstrates competent usage of proper body mechanics in all activitiesIdentifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies administrator/designeeCompletes all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner, as required by facility policyDemonstrates complete understanding of established emergency procedures for department and facilityPractices infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trainedPerforms all other duties as assigned by administrator/designeePromotes effective working relationships to meet the mission/goals and objectives of Optimal Imaging and the clinicSeeks consultation/collaboration for complex issues or when unsureDESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of a sonography program at an accredited schoolCurrent registration with the American Registry of Medical Sonography (ARDMS)State licensure where requiredOne to three years of ultrasound experience preferredUtilize ultrasound equipment to produce imagesAbility to work independentlyAbility to exercise judgement and make decisionsExcellent communication skills to communicate with patients, physicians, clients, coworkers, and management staffAbility to perform in a high productivity, fast-paced environmentAbility to document accurately and conciselyExcellent phone and computer skillsAbility to maintain sensitive information in confidenceHIPAA and OSHA knowledgeRadiology Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
