HOPCo is the managing partner of Arizona-based entities, CORE Institute, Northern Arizona Orthopaedics, CORE Institute Specialty Hospital, Michigan-based CORE Institute, and Florida-based Southeast Orthopedic Specialists.
As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are looking for PRN Physical Therapist Assistants! Please see below for the functions and requirements for this position:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues, providing information and commentary, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing physical therapy directives.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and updating therapy histories.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises, instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, and using supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, providing growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and infection-control policies.
- Maintains production objectives by monitoring treatment trends and services rendered.
- Ensures legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policies concerning federal, state, and local regulations, and JACHO standards.
- Updates job knowledge through educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances the reputation of physical therapy and the hospital by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Must have completed requirements for and hold a current PTA certification.
- Normal clinic environment.
- Standing approximately 80% of the day.
- Some bending and stretching required.
- Manual dexterity for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
