Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative II to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Beaches in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time opportunity.

Shift Details:
Wednesday-Friday 6:45am-7:15pmThe Patient Access team plays a critical role in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring accurate and efficient access to care. This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional with healthcare and insurance experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting patients throughout the registration and access process.

Patient Access Representative II

Job Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and other healthcare team members

Assist patients with the registration and patient access process while ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information

Verify insurance coverage and collect required patient information and documentation

Assist patients with questions related to registration, insurance, and the access-to-care process

Communicate professionally and effectively with patients and internal departments

Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow applicable privacy and organizational policies

Utilize computer systems and patient access technology to accurately document and update patient information

Support efficient patient flow and contribute to a positive patient experience

Customer Service Experience (required)
Healthcare Experience (required)1–2 years Insurance Experience (required)
Experience in hospital registration or patient access (preferred)
Patient Access Representative II Education & Credential Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Registers patients accurately and efficiently

Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces

Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas

Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters

Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.)Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHOMaintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members

Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms

Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
