Medical Assistant, Outpatient Oncology Head and Neck Surgery, MD Anderson

Baptist MD Anderson is seeking to add an energetic and dynamic Medical Assistant (MA) for our Outpatient Oncology Clinic in our Head/Neck Unit at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time position working Monday
- Friday, from 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

As a Medical Assistant in our outpatient oncology surgical clinic, you’ll be the first point of connection for patients, helping them feel supported from the moment they arrive. Your day will include preparing exam rooms, taking vitals, assisting with minor procedures, and coordinating patient flow to ensure visits run smoothly. By working closely with nurses, physicians, and the care team, you’ll play an essential role in delivering safe, compassionate care to patients throughout their surgical oncology journey.

The responsibilities of this Medical Assistant will include:

• Providing nursing assistance to the physician and APP.
• Obtaining vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Greeting and chaperoning patients as needed during medical visits.
• Telephone triage and patient education.
• Maintaining exam rooms, medical documentation, and patient intake to include preparation of charts.
• Scheduling care, treatment, and diagnostic tests per physician.
• Processing CLIA waived tests, prescription requests, and referrals.
• Cross training in front office, referral areas, and other areas.

Education & Credential Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA
