Kitchen Steward

Position Summary

The position involves washing dishes and cleaning kitchen areas in the hotel kitchen.

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other cutlery items; return items to the designated storage areas
• Clean work tables, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stoves, and other kitchen equipment
• Sweep and mop floors in assigned areas
• Collect, empty kitchen, dining room, and employee break room garbage into dumpster
• Filter and maintain fryer as needed
• Steam clean carts and floor mats
• Keep Utility Aide supply area clean and orderly; notify Executive Chef of supply needs
• Store and use sanitation solutions and/or other kitchen chemicals according to labeling specification and company policy
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas, as directed
• Follow safety regulations and participate in-service training
• Report all hazardous conditions and/or accidents/incidents to the Executive Chef
• Work during emergency situations including natural disasters

• Housekeeping experience desirable
• Engaging and pleasant personality who likes to meet new people
• Ability to use time wisely to accomplish tasks
• Ability to work on feet for an extended period
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places; observe conditions, detect odors, position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces; operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
• Comfortable lifting, carrying and positioning loads of at least 25 lbs

Full-time employees (30+ hours per week) after 90 days of employment.

$15.00 per hour.
